The Loppet Wheels Are Turning
It was a huge summer at Theodore Wirth. With the grand opening of our new urban adventure center, The Trailhead, and with the completion of over five miles of fun singletrack in the park, our goal to make Wirth a world-class hub of year-round outdoor activity is finally becoming a reality. To that end, we are thrilled to announce Loppet Cycle Works (LCW), a bike program that hopes to parallel the success of Loppet Nordic Racing (LNR), and invite more of our community into a year-round, active lifestyle connected to the Great Outdoors.
Loppet Cycle Works is poised to serve the full spectrum of cycling enthusiasts at all levels of ability and ages. We’re excited to welcome Bruce Martens as head cycling coach and program director. Bruce brings a wealth of experience, having worked six years as a founding member of the Minnesota High School League, three years with National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), and most recently, coaching and mentoring athletes of a wide range of experience and ability at the National Center for Youth Development (YO-DEVO).
LCW’s mission is to empower cyclists of all ages to achieve their goals through safe, educational, and enjoyable experiences that expose participants to challenges appropriate to their developmental level through year-round coached individual and group activities. Programs kick off November 12th.
