On-Snow Training Camp

Advanced On-Snow Training Camp with Loppet Nordic Racing

November 18-November 26, 2023

Join Loppet Nordic Racing for a challenging week of skiing. Our plan is travel to West Yellowstone, MT- which is where have gone for camp for the last 11 years. Please note that our final destination may change based on snow conditions. Locations may include Ironwood MI, Giant’s Ridge, MN, Houghton, MI or Thunder Bay, Ontario.

We will focus on putting in high volume/low intensity week of training, and we’ll devote lots of attention to ski technique. Big improvements come with many hours on snow, technique video review, and with excellent coaching. We will do both classic and skate, and generally we will emphasize classic more because the trails and snow conditions lend themselves to very good classic skiing. You’ll learn a lot about how top xc skiers train, and about what a real training camp is all about. This camp is focused on the 13-19 year old age group. It is meant for athletes that have been training seriously for cross country skiing over the summer and fall. This camp is for Loppet Nordic Racing athletes- please reach out to Piotr (bednarski@loppet.org) or Chris (harvey@loppet.org) if you have questions.

Note that this is an ADVANCED camp: It’s for athletes who are highly motivated and have been training substantially for endurance sport. You should also have at least 2 years of ski racing experience.

Cost of LNR Junior Thanksgiving On Snow Camp coaching + lodging + food + bus transportation $1350. (After October 15: $1390)

Cost includes bus transport, room and board, coaching and trail pass. Athletes will pay for their own food while in transit. We will have room for approximately 45 athletes and 5 coaches on the bus.
