Please read the City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival update statement, which outlines the important changes for this weekend’s events.
Please review the Participant Guide: Hybrid and Virtual Event Options before completing your event.
Keep everyone safe
Review the Health Screening Form from the Minnesota Department of Health on race morning. If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home.
For our full COVID-19 mitigation protocols, please read the City of Lakes Loppet Winter Festival Preparedness Plan.
Please no spectators
In particular, no spectators will be allowed in the start or finish areas. The only exception are parents with young children (one parent/guardian per child), one dog handler per skijor team, or participants who require unique assistance/accommodations.
The Hybrid version is self-timed on the marked course, not on the in-person race day, during your own individual start time which you choose (separate from registration). The Virtual version is self-timed at any venue of your choosing, except Theodore Wirth Park.
Please visit our Hybrid / Virtual event webpage for event day information for these formats, and to sign up for a Hybrid version start time.
Start Times and Protocols
Participants must begin their Hybrid event at the start time they sign up for. In order to socially distance, participants must not enter the start area until 5 minutes before their start time. Masks are required to be worn in the start/finish areas, and participants must have a mask on their person at all times.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, there will not be aid stations. Participants should be self reliant and supply their own nutrition and hydration.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, there will be no post-event celebration/festival. Keep your favorite refueling options in your car for post-race, or bring money with you to purchase something from Mill Valley Market at The Trailhead. Mill Valley Market will have a $5 special for a hot dog and hot chocolate ready for immediate service.
As much as we would love to hang out with you and hear stories of your event, we ask that you head home after you finish so we can keep everyone safely distanced from one another. Instead, please share your stories with us on social media by tagging the Loppet Foundation and using #CityOfLakesLoppet on Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter.
