As Midwesterners, we know that a lot could change in two weeks, but right now, it looks like a terrific snow base on our 7.5K man-made loop at Theodore Wirth Park, a happy consequence of hosting Masters World Cup this year! While we don’t plan on utilizing all of the trail system, we will likely be able to use a combination of different trails, with gentler trails for the shorter/younger distances, intermediate for U12/U14 age groups, and finally, adding the more challenging La Squadra hill for the U16 skiers. See Competition Maps for more detail.

The long-range weather forecast looks promising as well, with some temperatures popping their heads over that freezing point, but not by much.

Another new feature this year is the Lower Stadium’s expansion. We now have a vast amount of room for the start/finish, relay laps, as well as festival events on Saturday.

Parking will be available near the Lower Stadium, with a new lot added across Theodore Wirth Parkway. More information on traveling in and parking here.

The last day to register for Competition Events will be Tuesday, February 27, so make sure to sign up soon! Individual events will wrap up the Skiwerx Series and CXC Youth Cup Series, and relay events are always a highlight of the weekend! Note that if you sign up for Saturday’s Individual Start Classic race as well as the Classic Partner Sprint Relay, you will automatically be registered for the Festival events that day. No partner? No problem. All unmatched individuals will be partnered up with another skier.

Looking forward to skiing you out for another fun March weekend of skiing!
