Awards Ceremonies

The Loppet Awards Ceremony will take place at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 3 at The Trailhead. There will be door prizes, including entries for the CityTrail Loppet in May, the Tri-Loppet in June, and grand prizes Loppet Challenge and Hoigaard’s Challenge entries.

NOTE: Some events will have awards ceremonies at the finish area podium directly after the event and will not be featured at Sunday’s Award Ceremony. Please read below for details on your event.

Awards Table

All age-class award medals for the Classic or Skate Marathons and Puoli Loppets need to be picked up at the Awards Table- they will not be presented at the awards ceremonies.

If you have missed your event’s awards ceremony stop by the Awards Table at The Trailhead to pick up your awards. Hours to pick up awards are Saturday, February 2 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm and on Sunday, February 3 from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm.

Awards Pick-Up

Awards will also be available for pick up after the event until June 1 at the Loppet Foundation office. Email in advance to arrange a time: info@loppet.org

Freewheel Fat Tire Team Sprints

  • Locally crafted steel wall hangings to the first three male & female sprint teams in the Open and Masters categories.
    • Cash Awards for Teams in the Open category:
      • 1st Place: $250
      • 2nd Place: $100
      • 3rd Place: $50
  • Awards ceremony for this event will take place at the finish line podium on Thursday after the sprint finals. Must be present to receive cash awards.

Skate Ski Sprints

  • Locally crafted steel wall hangings to the first three male & female skiers in the Open and Masters categories.

      • 1st Place: $250

      • 3rd Place: $50
  • Awards ceremony for this event will take place at the finish line podium on Friday after the sprint finals. Must be present to receive cash awards.

Chuck & Don’s Skijor Sprints

  • Awards for first three male and female finishers.
    • 1st Place: $150 Chuck & Don’s Gift Card
    • 2nd Place: $100 Chuck & Don’s Gift Card

Classic Ski Tour

  • Commemorative medals for all finishers.

Classic Ski Puoli Loppet

  • Commemorative medals for all finishers.
  • Locally crafted steel wall hangings to the first three male and female finishers.
  • Award medals for male & female 10-year age categories 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39 . . . 70+. (These may be picked up at the Awards Table as soon as results are posted.)

The Flower Ceremony for the first three male and female finishers will happen at the finish line podium immediately after the race. Top finishers should report to the podium within 5 minutes of finishing. Steel wall hangings will be awarded at Sunday’s Awards Ceremony at 2:30 pm.

Classic Ski Loppet

  • Commemorative medals for first-year finishers, commemorative pins for multiple-time finishers.
  • Locally crafted steel wall hangings for first three male and female finishers.
  • Award medals for male and female 5-year age categories 19 & under, 20-24, 25-29 . . . 70+. (These may be picked up at the Awards Table as soon as results are posted.)

SW Journal Snow Sculpture Contest

  • Award medals to the top three teams.

Captain Ken’s Kubb Tournament

Awards ceremony for this event will take place at the Loppet Village finish area podium at approximately 3:50 pm, or as soon as results are posted.

Telemark Clinic

  • City of Lakes Loppet Ribbons for fastest run, best combination of time and style, and best tele turn.

Awards ceremony for this event will take place at the end of the clinic.

Skate Ski Tour

Loppet Challenge

Classic Marathon + Skate Marathon

  • Commemorative pint glass and Surly beer ticket to all finishers.
  • Locally crafted steel wall hangings to the top three male & female skiers in each 5-year age category:
    • 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29 . . . 70 & Up (Change for 2019- Age Group awards for Top 3 Male and Female Finishers will be picked up at the Awards table and will not be presented at the Sunday Awards Ceremony)

Awards ceremony for the Loppet Challenge Top 3 Overall Male and Female Finishers will take place at the Loppet Awards Ceremony at 2:30 pm Sunday, February 3 at The Trailhead. Age Group Awards and Pint glasses may be picked up at the Awards Table in The Big Tent immediately following your finish.

Minne Tour

Sprints + Classic Marathon + Skate Marathon

  • $6,000 purse! Male & female skiers with the top cumulative times win cash:
    • 1st place: $1500
    • 2nd place: $800
    • 3rd place: $400
    • 4th place: $200
    • 5th place: $100

Awards ceremony for the Minne Tour will take place at the Loppet Awards Ceremony at 2:30 pm Sunday, February 3 in The Trailhead Building. Must be present to receive cash awards.

National Skijoring Champions

Saturday 10k Race + Sunday Point-to-Point Race

  • Awards for the first three male and female teams.
  • 1st Place: $100 Cash, $100 Gift Card to Chuck & Don’s, Locally crafted steel wall hanging
  • 2nd Place: $50 Cash, $50 Gift Card to Chuck & Don’s, Locally crafted steel wall hanging
  • 3rd Place: $25 Cash, $25 Gift Card to Chuck & Don’s, Locally crafted steel wall hanging

Awards ceremony for this championship will take place at the finish area immediately following Sunday’s event. Must be present to receive cash awards.

Double-Loppet Award

City of Lakes Loppet + Mora Vasaloppet
Ski the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year and receive the “Double-Loppet” award. This participation pin goes to all skiers who complete a 25 kilometer or longer event at both the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year.

The Double-Loppet Award will be handed out at the Mora Vasaloppet.

Hoigaard’s Challenge

City of Lakes Loppet + CityTrail Loppet + Tri-Loppet + Surly Trail Loppet
The Hoigaard’s Challenge begins in the winter with the City of Lakes Loppet, continues in the spring with the CityTrail Loppet, in the summer with the Tri-Loppet and finishes in the fall with the Surly Trail Loppet. Participants who compete in all four events receive commemorative pins and age class recognition at the annual Loppet Events Banquet.
