Loppet Foundation COVID-19 Update
April 16, 2021
In accordance with current state Executive Orders and local health guidelines, the Loppet Foundation will be following COVID-19 mitigation protocols. For your convenience, we have outlined below the specific Loppet areas which are affected. This document will be updated with changes, and the new date when that occurs will be adjusted above.
Trails & Trailhead
Mill Valley Market:
Mill Valley Market is open daily from 9am – 8pm for indoor and outdoor patio dining. You may also choose to bring a blanket to further distance yourself on the grass. Restrooms are available indoors for Mill Valley Market customers.
The Trailhead building is closed to the public. Please come to the trails prepared, as there will be no hydration stations or warming areas available. Port-a-potties are located outside The Trailhead.
All Loppet trails will continue to be maintained and will be open based on conditions. Please check the Maps & Trail Conditions webpage before arriving.
Full COVID-19 mitigation protocols will be in place for the Sitka Salmon Shares CityTrail Loppet 10K/5K. Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, we are also offering a hybrid version for the 5K. This means courses will be marked throughout the day on Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 23 (in-person race day).
In-person practices and day camps have resumed. According to new state guidelines, groups of up to 50 individuals are allowed, but we are still trying to keep our groups to around 25 or fewer athletes at a time. All athletes will be required to wear a face covering during group meetings at the start and end of practices, in The Trailhead workout studio and on its outdoor/turf areas, and anytime that social distancing cannot be maintained. Like always, we ask everyone to please be respectful of others using the trails.
We hope to see you, from a socially appropriate distance, on the trails!
