Race Overview

Calling all skiers ages 15 & under to Theodore Wirth Park for one last hurrah of competition and festival events this March 4-6. Winter is waiting for you!

Trail Conditions

While temperatures in the 60s this weekend may have melted the few remaining snowmen around town, the Theodore Wirth Park snow-making loop is still in good form, and race officials feel confident that our final week of youth races will be pulled off with success! Weather forecasts for this week remain primarily below freezing, and while the weekend forecast itself looks very Spring-like, the thick base of snow should remain resilient. With that said, brace yourselves for some warm weather skiing – klister, sunglasses, sunscreen, the whole nine yards.

Stay tuned to Skinnyski for updated trail reports.

Events

The Midwest Junior Championships & Festival 2016 is looking forward to another excellent weekend of end-of-season racing. With incredible turnout last year, in large credit due to two of the events being the final stop of the CXC Youth Cup series, we expect high numbers of racers and spectators from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. This will also be the second year of our Festival events on Saturday, which includes Paintball Biathlon, SkiCross, skijoring demos, ski games, and more. Additional events such as the tandem and four-person relays and Age Gap Relays, as well as a little March sunshine round out the weekend into a crowd favorite.

Check out the CXC Youth Cup Standings here.

Registration closes this Tuesday at midnight, so register soon. There will be no day-of registration except for the Festival events.
