Hoigaard’s Classic Marathon

Saturday – 9:00 a.m.

This 42 kilometer (about 26.2 miles) point-to-point marathon race starts in Wirth Park and finishes in the Loppet Village in Uptown. The Hoigaard’s Classic is a classic/diagonal stride only.

The Hoigaard’s Classic starts in the lower stadium. To access the stadium area from the Chalet, proceed from the parking lot up along Wirth Parkway to the south/west about 300 meters. Look for the clothing bag drop near the stadium area and start line.

Registration and transaction fees are nonrefundable, including in the event of cancellation. Registration is not transferable to another person or another event for any reason, including injury. Competing under another person’s name will result in disqualification.

Hoigaard’s Challenge

The Hoigaard’s Classic is a Hoigaard’s Challenge event. Do either the Hoigaard’s Classic or the Freestyle Loppet, then complete the City Trails Loppet, the Tri-Loppet and Trail Loppet in a single year and qualify for awards and recognition. The Loppet Foundation thanks Bearskin Lodge for its sponsorship of Hoigaard’s Challenge – winners of the Hoigaard’s Challenge Competitive category for men and women each win a week trip to Bearskin Lodge, and winners of the General category are entered into a drawing to win a week trip to Bearskin Lodge.

Loppet Challenge

The Hoigaard’s Classic is the first event of the Loppet Challenge – a two-day test of mettle for cross country skiers. Compete in both the Hoigaard’s Classic 42k and the Loppet Freestyle 42K race. Double-Loppet Award

Ski the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year and receive the “Double-Loppet” award. This participation pin goes to all skiers who complete a 25 kilometer or longer event at both the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year.
