15235443_10154789566739096_6029812924630526971_oOver Thanksgiving break, the LNR Junior team headed to West Yellowstone, Montana to complete a week-long, on-snow training camp at the West Yellowstone Ski Festival. The focus for the week was on putting in high volume, but low-intensity training, with lots of attention giving to ski technique.

There were 80 juniors (including six from the Loppet Adventures program), along with 10 coaches who headed out west to ski in some challenging conditions.

LNR Coach Craig Jarvinen along with super volunteer, Bill Kerker, rented a snowmobile to groom the South Plateau road all the way to Idaho! Everyone rose to the challenge and, with the help of our great groomers, we were able to ski for nearly 28 hours during the week, while also spending time to make technical improvements.

At the end of the week there was a 1.6km downhill time trial. Kelly Koch and Foss Kerker took the top times for the girls and boys respectively.
