Cajun Twist Reveals Menu for Restaurant at The Trailhead

Minneapolis, MN – Coming soon to Theodore Wirth Regional Park — a new facility with myriad amenities, one of which is a Cajun-themed restaurant aptly named Cajun Twist. The restaurant will operate out of The Trailhead, the newest community space for outdoor adventure in Minneapolis, which opens this summer. A minority- and woman-owned business, Cajun Twist will have its first brick-and-mortar operation in The Trailhead — much to the delight of its founder and owner, Teona Washington.

“Having a permanent home for Cajun Twist is going to be a gamechanger. My team is thrilled for this opportunity to bring authentic New Orleans cuisine to North Minneapolis through this partnership!” she said.

The menu for Cajun Twist, which can be viewed in its entirety here, will include classics like seafood and vegan gumbos, fried catfish, and red beans and rice; plus some of Washington’s original creations like the Nawlins Dog, Zydeko Rice Bowl, and Jambosas (think sambusas with a Cajun Twist) — adding a much-needed pop of flavor to the North Minneapolis food scene.

“At the intersection of old family recipes and techniques I picked up working in restaurants on Bourbon Street, I’ve been able to craft some deliciously unique plates that I’m so excited to share with visitors of The Trailhead.” Washington said.

Through a partnership between the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board and the Loppet Foundation, The Trailhead will serve as a year-round destination for outdoor adventurers from all walks of life. Learn more about the project at loppet.org/trailhead.
