MONDAY Dec. 20 –XC coach workshops on snow at Wirth ski trails
9:30- 11am (Classic Technique)
Build XC Fundamentals with Skills and Drills: What are the characteristics of great skiers? XC Fundamentals outline how body movements affect ski equipment performance. We’ll tune into XC Fundamentals as we explore skill development for maintaining effective body position, creating propulsion, ski to ski weight transfer and glide.
1- 2:30pm (Skate Technique)

Personal ski improvement and Movement Analysis: Movement Analysis is a valuable tool for skill development. How do we execute this process with success and build excitement for the learning process? We’ll practice Movement Analysis with each other in a safe and stimulating environment.
4:30- 5:30pm
Trailhead Happy Hour Presentation with Emily Lovett: PSIA National XC Team Coach – The Learning Connection Model to Elevate Coach/Athlete Experiences
6:00- 7:30pm (Classic technique)
Play with Purpose! (Youth program focus): Create positive learning environments through blending people, teaching and technical skills. Agility and games are more than fun! Adding elements of fun and play to bring our skills to the next level.
TUESDAY Dec. 21 -XC coach workshops on snow at Wirth ski trails
9:30- 11am (Skate technique)
Empowerment and Performance to Elevate your Skiing: We all have the ability to shape our performance. Learn tools and strategies to perform at your best in skiing, coaching, instructing or whatever it is you want to be your best. We’ll explore Imagery, mindset, focus and intensity on the snow and in our skiing to explore what resonates most with each of us.

Create progressions for smooth transitions through a focus on XC fundamentals: Learning and applying XC fundamentals can help make progression building easier. We’ll tune into the XC Fundamentals and explore ways to develop skill development progressions with the XC Fundamentals as a guide.
4:30- 5:30pm (Trailhead)
Trailhead “Happy Hour” Presentation with Emily Lovett -PSIA National XC Team Coach – The Learning Connection Model to Elevate Coach/Athlete Experiences
6:00- 7:30pm (Skate technique)
Create your own “bag of tricks” (Youth program focus): Skill development progression involves identifying the desired outcome, then creating small steps to help skiers learn new movement patterns and tactics that lead to the desired outcome. We’ll practice this process by defining desired outcomes and using our own creativity to explore activities that can help initiate new movements and a desired outcome.
