Competition Team Session III

Summer session is where all of the training, learning, and growing through the off-season and spring sessions pay off! The Loppet Cycle Works Competition Team summer session applies all of sport-specific strength training and indoor/outdoor cycling to an ambitious race schedule. Classes are structured to accommodate a competition-focused periodization plan maximizing an integrated biopsychosocial method, ensuring every participant gets a developmentally appropriate level of challenge according to their individual goals, competence, availability, and rate of progression. Week to week focus is on performance readiness for the next race while refining fundamentals and sport-specific skill enhancement so that a safe, enjoyable experience is possible while challenging each participant’s threshold. Race-course pre-ride trips, training camps, and race specific training practices and drills are scheduled to ensure riders are equip to do their best at the races on the schedule.
Summer session is the third phase of a four-phase sequence designed to guide participants through an entire training year. Though participation for the full year is not required, the option to attend the entire four-phase program provides optimal developmental support and instruction and is proven most beneficial for those seeking comprehensive, progressive, and consistent coach mentorship and instruction.
The Loppet Cycle Works Competition Team ensures each rider is safe, learning, and having fun exploring all that training for competitive cycling has to offer. Riders looking to qualify for the LCW Competition Team will be required to participate in the LCW strength program prior to applying for membership.
