DEVO Team

Focused on Cross Country Racing for Ages 12-17

This is a group of dedicated youth athletes who share a commitment to a healthy lifestyle through cycling, strive to improve their cycling performance through training and racing, as well as being meaningful contributors to our cherished cycling community.

The goals for the DEVO Team are encourage and support youth to engage in a healthy lifestyle through the friendship, teamwork, and fun that cycling offers, contribute to the betterment of our community through volunteer projects, pursue team and personal improvement through focused training and racing, be conscientious of personal character on and off the bike so we can continue to promote the sport of cycling, the Loppet Foundation, and our sponsors in a positive light.

Session 2 is where all of the training, learning, and growing through the off-season and spring sessions pay off! The Loppet Cycle Works DEVO program session 2 applies all of sport-specific strength training and indoor/outdoor cycling to full on competition training. Worth on Wednesdays and the Minnesota Mountain Bike Series races are the primary opportunities for trying out racing. Rides and strength classes are structured to accommodate all abilities, ensuring every participant gets a developmentally appropriate level of challenge according to their individual goals, competence, availability, and rate of progression. Finding the fun in training to compete is the goal! Competition preparation strategies and best practice are emphasized and the focus is on fundamental and sport-specific skill enhancement and refinement for race registration.

Off-season training program for competitive (DEVO) youth cyclists looking to enhance their competence on the bike through a structured training regimen consisting of sport-specific strength training. Classes are structured to accommodate all abilities using a periodization framework and integrated biopsychosocial method, ensuring every participant gets a developmentally appropriate level of challenge according to their individual goals, competence, availability, and rate of progression.

Off-season training program for junior cyclists looking to enhance their competence on the bike through a structured training regimen consisting of sport-specific strength and circuit training. Classes are structured to accommodate all abilities, ensuring every participant gets a developmentally appropriate level of challenge according to their individual goals, competence, availability, and rate of progression.

Indoor cycling programming using smart-trainer technology. This is a add on to the strength and circuit training and is optional. You can rent a smart trainer from the Loppet to use in your home for the session. You can choose to do these sessions online with your coach and teammates or do them on your own. Online Coach led rides will be scheduled on either Saturday or Sunday morning. As the weather accommodates, the cycling component of this program will transition outside.

The Loppet will issue a full refund of the program fee minus a $40.00 processing fee up until one month before the program starts. There are no refunds for any cancellations within one month of the start of a program. During the program, if your child has a medical issue that makes it impossible to participate, we will issue a prorated refund minus the $40.00 processing fee. If the Loppet cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
