Nearly 400 racers came out for the 2018 Framed Bikes Pre-Loppet, the tuneup event before the City of Lakes Loppet Festival. Adult ski racers competed on a 5 km loop, while youth athletes sprinted around a shorter course.

“It was a nice opportunity to give the new stadium a dry-run before Masters World Cup in a couple of weeks. We learned a lot,” said Nels Dyste, MWC Chief of Competition.

The fat bikers in the full and half-distance races, who are usually not able to ride on ski trails, raved about the course’s challenge and the new single track. While the course’s hard turns and steep climbs made for a challenging race, many openly welcomed the butt-kicking ride.
