The Junior Loppet event begins near the Lake Calhoun Center on the northwest corner of Bde Maka Ska. There are three course distances to challenge the older, middle, and youngest ages of the Junior Loppet participants. The courses loop around Lake Calhoun and finish with the crowds awaiting them in the Loppet Village near the Lake Calhoun Center. The race is open to anyone 19 and under. All of the Junior Loppet races are freestyle technique.

The Junior Loppet is a CXC Youth Cup event for the U12 and U14 age groups, and a Minnesota Skiwerx Series event for the U10, U12 and U14 age groups.


Prize Categories

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each two-year age class:

U20 Born between January 1, 1998 and December 31, 1999
U18 Born in 2000 or 2001
U16 Born in 2002 or 2003
U14 Born in 2004 or 2005
U12 Born in 2006 or 2007
U10 Born in 2008 or 2009
U8 Born after December 31, 2009

Registration and transaction fees are nonrefundable, including in the event of cancellation. Registration is not transferable to another person or another event for any reason, including injury. Competing under another person’s name will result in disqualification.
