This 42 kilometer (about 26.2 miles) point-to-point marathon race starts in Uptown on Bde Maka Ska and finishes in the Loppet Village in Wirth Park. The Classic Marathon is a classic/diagonal stride only.

Registration and transaction fees are nonrefundable, including in the event of cancellation. Registration is not transferable to another person or another event for any reason, including injury. Competing under another person’s name will result in disqualification.

The Classic Marathon a Hoigaard’s Challenge event. Do either the Classic or the Skate Marathon, then complete the City Trails Loppet, the Tri-Loppet and Trail Loppet in a single year and qualify for awards and recognition. The Loppet Foundation thanks Bearskin Lodge for its sponsorship of Hoigaard’s Challenge – winners of the Hoigaard’s Challenge Competitive category for men and women each win a week trip to Bearskin Lodge, and winners of the General category are entered into a drawing to win a week trip to Bearskin Lodge.
The Hoigaard’s Classic is the first event of the Loppet Challenge- a two-day test of mettle for cross country skiers. Compete in both the Classic Marathon and Skate Marathon. Age class awards for the top participants in the Loppet Challenge. For more information on the Loppet Challenge click here.
Ski the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year and receive the “Double-Loppet” award. This participation pin goes to all skiers who complete a 25 kilometer or longer event at both the City of Lakes Loppet and the Mora Vasaloppet in the same year.
