As the Loppet Foundation continues to expand programmatic offerings, a new era of competitive racing is underway!
Loppet Nordic Racing (LNR) has historically served as the competitive racing wing of Loppet Foundation programming, with a heavy leaning towards cross-country skiing. Now that the Loppet Foundation is solidifying their place in the sport of mountain biking, a new business unit has been developed to serve the growing cohort of off-road cyclists in Loppet World.
Cue Loppet Cycle Works (LCW) — the newest Loppet program division dedicated to mountain biking. Headed up by Bruce Martens, NICA Level 3 coach and IMBA ICP instructor, Loppet Cycle Works is poised to serve the full spectrum of cycling enthusiasts at all levels of ability and ages. As a complement to LNR, LCW will exist under a new umbrella called Loppet Sport, which encompasses all competitive training programs including TRAIL KIDS, LNR, LCW and more!
“We are super excited to launch a competitive mountain biking program that would mirror the programming we run with Loppet Nordic Racing. With a the leadership and coaching experience of Bruce Martens, were are now in a position to launch Loppet Cycle Works.” said Piotr Bednarski, Director of Loppet Sport. “LCW programs will span ages 12 thru adult. There will be programming for those that want to race at a high level, as well as those that want to improve skills and fitness in order to prepare for epic rides with no finish line. Our programs kick of on November 12th!”
The restructuring sets the Loppet Foundation up to continue its growth in outdoor sports, serving a growing number of competitive skiers and cyclists in the Minneapolis area. Learn more at loppet.org/LCW.
