Great fun for the whole family. The new tubing hill at Wirth Park features a riding hill designed specially for family fun, with a tow rope to bring tubers back up to the top of the hill. You bring the warm clothes, we provide the rest.
Start your tubing adventure at the “Winter HQ” (Par-3 Building – 1325 Theodore Wirth Parkway). Park in the Par-3 parking lot or the main Chalet parking lot and walk west/south along the parkway to Winter HQ.
Sledding is not allowed on the tubing hill at Wirth Winter Recreation Area. No snowboards, skis, sleds, toboggans, or tubes other than the tubes supplied by The Loppet Foundation are allowed on the hill. Riders must be at least five years of age or 44” tall. Riders under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Sessions / Tubing Hours
The Tubing Hill is open during scheduled sessions depending upon conditions. There are times when we need to close the hill due to cold temperatures, wind chill, or icy conditions. We will publish the latest tubing hill status below. Please call for more information about closures, 612-355-7757.

Parties may purchase tubing hill passes in advance. These will be available to purchase here online once the tubing hill is open. Group rates are available. Winter Recreation Headquarters may not be reserved, but we do have an outdoor Winter Village with seating and fire pits for a party gathering space. It is also possible to reserve a room in the Chalet. We apologize that this is not more seamless, but this is a transition year for the winter recreation area. For more information, contact Winter Recreation Headquarters at 612-355-7757 or email Bert Jackson at email@example.com.
The tubing hill is also available during daytime hours for special corporate events. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on rates and availability of a specific date.
Limited parking is available at MPRB Winter Recreation HQ. Additional parking is available at the Wirth Chalet.
