MORC TRAIL Conditions: – Make sure to check out the latest MORC trail conditions. When Wirth or Elm Creek trails are closed we will work on bike skills in grass areas and ride bike paths to work on endurance.
Last week of spring TRAIL KIDS session!
Tuesday, May 30th –
4:45 – 5:15 – Warm up at Harrison field in groups practicing skills for test
5:15 – Team Pictures
5:15 – 5:30 – Skills test in coaching groups ( Yellow level for all groups , Beginne group will start with white/Green skills first).
5:30 – 6:30 – Single track riding – Practice some mass start racing skills for Wednesday race.
Wednesday, May 31 – Adventure Mountain bike race Schedule: Hoping to have race in back 40 trails with mass start at bottom of gravel road hill and Luce line with a climb to upper prairie and then racing onto the last north part of the single track trail. One loop for beginner and two loops for advanced.
- Registration starts at 4:45 – 5:15
- Warm up by biking to course 5:15 – 5:30
- Mass race start at 5:30 for beginner racers
- Mass start race of advanced racers at 5:45 p.m.
Yellow level skills test on Harrison field at stations for each group
|Demonstrate front to back bike to body separation on bike ramps or steep descent ( Butt back)||Demonstrate riding circles in tight coned square with shoulder and head moving with the turn||Demonstrate side to side bike to body separation around cones/tree on flat terrain||Demonstrate riding a standing power climb and a seated climb||Demonstrate shifting gears using the surge, soft and shift skill on gradual climb||Demonstrate a front wheel lift with no obstacles or timing||Demonstrate riding on a 6″ skinny board on grass||Demonstrate riding two loops on the Harrison grass field loop without stopping ( 1 mile)|
