Ski or Bike the Framed Bikes Pre-Loppet!

This article was posted on Thursday, January 5, 2017

The Framed Bikes Pre Loppet is this Sunday, January 8th. New this year to the Pre-Loppet schedule are two fat bike races. Now, skiers and fat bikers can both get a preview of the City of Lakes Loppet Course. Don’t worry – the bike and ski races go at different times. First the skiers race, and once they’ve finished, the fat bikers head out on the course. Click here for a full event schedule.

The Framed Bikes Pre-Loppet gives fat bikers a unique opportunity to preview the City of Lakes Loppet course before the main event! Fat bikes are not normally allowed on the ski trails. This is your chance to ride on real snow – and tough trails – before the next snowfall.

For skiers, the Pre-Loppet is the tuneup for the City of Lakes Loppet Festival and it is a wave qualifier for the Loppet Festival. The race includes youth, junior and adult ski races.

Online registration has now closed. Day of registration is available – but at the higher, last-minute price.

Pre-Loppet Course Update

Unless there’s an unexpected snowstorm, this year’s event will use the newly realigned Hap Lutter snowmaking loop. The loop is 2.7 kilometers long now, but should be 3.5K by the time of the event. Be among the first to experience the new and improved alignment!
