Times and locations for Loppet events on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday Schedule
Events start at 8 a.m. with the Loppet Sculpture Contest and do not conclude until 9 p.m. with the Post-Luminary Party finishing in Calhoun Square in Uptown. Make a day of it!
All Day — Loppet Kubb Tournament
Check-in: 9:00 a.m.
Throwing Starts: 10:00 a.m. on Lake Calhoun
Teams of 2-6 players compete in this Swedish lawn game in a 64 team Round Robin/Knockout tournament.
All Day — Loppet Sculpture Contest – presented by the Southwest Journal
Sculpting from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Judging from 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Noon – 1:30 p.m. Heats. Finals at 1:30 p.m. — Penn Ice-Cycle Loppet
An exciting bike race on a short track of ice.
Noon – 7 p.m. — Beer Garden & Vendor Village
Visit Calhoun Square for beer, outdoor and fitness vendors, and more.
11:30 a.m. — Ski-O Loppet – Orienteering on Skis
Participant bus leaves Lake Street side of Calhoun Square at 11:30am for remote start location.
Event start will be at approximately 12:30pm with a finish in Uptown.
Navigate one of two different courses (available based on difficulty and length) on skis using a map and compass.
12:30 p.m. — Finn Sisu Sprints – Preliminary heats
Each racer skis a qualifying heat in the heart of Uptown to determine placement in the final sprints at 5 p.m. High school, open and masters divisions.
1:30 p.m. — Chuck & Don’s Skijoring Loppet – One Dog National Championship
Dogs pair up with their human skiers during this exciting race around Lake of the Isles with an Uptown finish.
1:30 p.m. – 3:15 p.m. — Minnesota Youth Ski League SuperCarnival
Ski games for children 12 and under, alongside the finish line in Uptown.
2:30 p.m. — Rossignol Junior Loppet
A 5k race around Lake of the Isles with an Uptown finish for anyone age 18 or younger.
3:30 p.m. — Cook County Minne(sota)-Loppet
A free and non-competitive event for kids ages 12 and under. All kids receive medals, cookies and hot cider.
4:30 p.m. — Finn Sisu Sprints – Finals
2 minute heats in the heart of Uptown. High school, open and masters divisions.
6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30 & 8:00 p.m. — Park Nicollet Luminary Loppet
A beautiful night-time ski around Lake of the Isles, lit up with thousands of ice luminaries.
7:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. — Post-Luminary Loppet Party
Live music and dancing in Calhoun Square. Free for Loppet registrants and volunteers, $10 otherwise.
Sunday Schedule
All Day — Loppet Sculpture Viewing — presented by the Southwest Journal

9:00 a.m. start — REI Tour
A 10k non-competitive ski tour starting at Theodore Wirth Park and finishing in Uptown.
9:20 a.m. start — Hoigaard’s Classic
A 25k classic/diagonal stride race starting at Theodore Wirth Park and finishing in Uptown.
10:00 – 11:45 a.m. — Most REI Tour finishers will arrive at the finish line
10:30 a.m. start — City of Lakes Freestyle Loppet
A 33k urban ski race starting at Theodore Wirth Park and finishing in Uptown.
10:30 – 10:45 a.m. — Hoigaard’s Classic winners will arrive at the finish line
11:45 – 12:15 p.m. — Freestyle Loppet winners will arrive at the finish line (depending upon course and weather conditions)
11 a.m. – 1 p.m. — Minnesota Youth Ski League SuperCarnival
Ski games for children 12 and under, alongside the finish line in Uptown.
1:00 p.m. – 14k Chuck & Don’s Skijoring Loppet – Two Dog National Championship
The 2nd half of the Skijor USA National Championship starts and finishes in the new stadium at Theodore Wirth Park.
2:00 p.m. – Penn Cycle Fat Tire Loppet
Once a year chance for fat tire bikers to ride the challenging ski trails. Similar course to the Loppet Freestyle event with a few deviations.
3:00 p.m. — Awards ceremony
