Finn Sisu Sprints

Friday 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Two-minute heats. Youth, Open and Masters categories. With a new and improved trail – featuring drops, jumps and hills – this will be a spectator highlight. The Finn Sisu Sprints are part of the Loppet Minne-Tour.

No Day of Race Registration

Registration and transaction fees are nonrefundable, including in the event of cancellation. Registration is not transferable to another person or another event for any reason, including injury. Competing under another person’s name will result in disqualification.

A Note About the Data We Collect


Race Categories

Junior: Open to all athletes born after Jan. 1, 1997 (see age categories below).

Open: Anyone can compete in the Open category. Any skiers competing in the Loppet Minne Tour must compete in the Finn Sisu Sprints to be eligible to win cash prizes.

Masters: Open to all athletes age 40 and over (born before January 1, 1977).


Youth Race Series

The Finn Sisu Sprints are part of the Skiwerx Series and the CXC Youth Cup series.

Race Format

Depending upon the number of skiers in each category, the Sprints will feature quarter-, semi-finals and finals. The top two skiers in each heat advance. The top four male and female skiers from the heats advance to the finals.

Junior Age Categories

U20 Born between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 1998
U18 Born in 1999 or 2000
U16 Born in 2001 or 2002
U14 Born in 2003 or 2004
U12 Born in 2005 or 2006
U10 Born in 2007 or 2008
U8 Born after December 31, 2008

Spectating

The course features jumps, drops and steep downhills on a compact course right outside of the Big Tent – and with the Surly Beer Garden available along the course. In other words, this event will make for great spectating. Open class skiers will be skiing for keeps – because the Finn Sisu Sprints are part of the Loppet Minne Tour – with a $6,000 cash purse!
